An Afternoon at Sun Harvest Citrus
I consider myself and Ice Cream fanatic, so when I heard about the orange ice cream at Sun Harvest Citrus, I knew I HAD to have it.
I had always heard people talk about Sun Harvest Citrus and their to-die muffins and different flavors of orange juice, and while all that sounded great my interested was really peaked when someone mentioned ICE CREAM. I love ice cream and I love trying different ice cream shops and frequenting my favorite spots. So on a sunny Florida day while driving around Fort Myers I saw Sun Harvest Citrus and knew it was the perfect time.
I stopped in and was amazed at the amount of people that were there, aside from it being a citrus store it was more of an attraction! There was a gift shop area, as well as fresh produce, jams and jellies, different types of orange juices, baked good and the sweet sweet ice cream. i made my way through the crowd to sample the varieties of fresh squeezed orange juice, after downing a few I moved on to the next delicacy.
By the fresh oranges and grapefruits there are windows in that give you a “sneak peek” of the workings in the warehouse. You can see how the oranges and grapefruits are being freshly squeezed to make the delicious juice.
As soon as I’m doing checking out every section and choosing a jug of their famous strawberry orange juice for home, I get in line to get the ice cream. “One orange soft serve ice cream, please” I say as my mouth begins to water. I finally get my cone and it’s so perfectly swirled it looks fake. Even though i cant wait to try what all the buzz is about I knew I had to take a picture, as soon as I got the perfect shot (see above image) I devoured it. People had not been exaggerating, it was the best orange ice cream I’ve had. I would definitely go back for more.
