Watersports

With the amazing Florida weather, the beach is always a good idea; it’s a great way to relax and enjoy nature. But if you’re more of the adventurous type and you just CANNOT sit still, then what’s better than getting active on the water by renting a Jet Ski! Marco Island Water Sports offers wave runners, parasailing, paddleboarding, and even banana boat rides. They have two locations: Marco Island and Naples right on the beach! A wave runner rental for 30-60 mins starts at $110. So get on and zoom through the turquoise waters of Marco Island!

If you’re on Fort Myers Beach, then check out Adventure Water Sports for on-the-water rentals. They offer wave runners, kayaks, and even Hobie Wave Sailboats! If you’d like to see some dolphins, they also have a guided dolphin tour. Hop on your wave runner and follow the experienced guide as they lead you on this hour and a half excursion while you explore Estero Island’s wildlife, estuaries, mangrove forests, and back bays. Then you can get back to the beach and relax under the umbrella (they rent those too!) Adventure Water Sports has all the fun and convenience for the perfect beach day!

Adventures on Land

Another way to adventure in nature is by visiting one of the many amazing local parks and gardens!

If you enjoy taking long walks and bird watching, or get excited about the possibility of encountering a raccoon or otters, then the Six Mile Cypress Slough is where you need to be.

The preserve is over 3,500 acres of wetland ecosystem with a Boardwalk trail and Interpretive Center (the center is currently closed but the boardwalks remain open.) A myriad of animals like otters, alligators, turtles, wading birds, and more live at the Slough year-round. Others, like migrating birds and butterflies, use the Slough as a feeding area or a winter home. Admission is free with paid parking and parking is only $1/hour with a limit of 5 hours.
