Fort Myers Beach options range from sequestered and natural to fun-loving and active. The seven-mile-long Estero Island boasts soft, white sands that run along resorts, condos, bars, restaurants, and the famous Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier.

To the south, Lovers Key State Park regularly wins awards for its secluded sands, recreational opportunities, and wedding gazebo venue. Lovers Key is a great place to relax on the natural beaches or you can kayak the mangrove shores or venture out into the Gulf of Mexico.

Important information you need to know about the parking on Fort Myers Beach….

Short Term Parking: Short-term metered parking, is located on Old San Carlos Blvd., Estero Blvd., Center St., and Fifth St. Metered spaces have a 2 hour time limit and cost $2 per hour (coin change machines are available on Center St. and next to the Shipwreck Store on Old San Carlos Blvd. Meters are monitored 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., seven days a week.

Long Term Parking: Long-term parking is available on all beach access streets and in the lot under the Matanzas Pass Bridge. The cost is $2 per hour and there is not a time limit. Two of the beach accesses, Palm Ave. and Connecticut, offer “Pay and Display” machines, which accept credit card payments.

 Prohibited Parking

  • On the sidewalk
  • In the wrong direction (against the flow of traffic)
  • In a handicapped space without a valid permit
  • In a fire lane
  • In areas officially marked as prohibited.

Bowditch Point Regional Park

Open from dawn to dusk seven days a week, Bowditch beach is located at the north end of Fort Myers Beach on Estero Blvd. Its location, where Estero Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico, makes this a great spot for bird watching, beach strolls, swimming and beautiful sunsets.

  • Over 75 parking spaces within the park, cost $1 per hour (no partial hours) payments accepted in nickels, dimes, quarters, one dollar coins, one & five dollar bills and credit card. (No change is given)
  • Maximum vehicle length 20 feet
  • No trailer or vehicle trailer parking is permitted
  • Tables and grills available, first come first serve
  •  A concession  area for rest, variety of food items, gifts and souvenirs
  • Restroom and changing facilities

The Pier & Lynn Hall Memorial Park

Lynn Hall Memorial Park is located on Fort Myers Beach next to “Times Square” in the heart of downtown Fort Myers Beach. Restaurants and shops surround the area and it’s a great place to people watch.  The paid parking lot is open from 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

  • More than 100 parking spaces at $2 per hour (no partial hours) payments accepted in nickels, dimes, quarters, one dollar coins, one, five & ten dollar bills and most major credit card. (No change is given)
  • Maximum vehicle length 20 feet
  • No trailer or vehicle trailer parking is permitted
  • Playground for kids
  • Shelters with grills for picnic are available, first come first serve

Lover’s Key

Lovers Key State Park is located just south of Fort Myers Beach and regularly wins awards for its secluded, natural beaches, recreational opportunities and wedding gazebo venue. It is home to a  variety of wildlife including the West Indian manatee, bottlenose dolphin, roseate spoonbill, marsh rabbit and bald eagle.  Lover’s Key State Park is located between Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach on Estero Blvd.

  • Open form 8:00am – sunset
  • There is a $8 entrance fee per vehicle (2-8 persons), $4 for single vehicle and $3 per bicyclist or walker
  • Restrooms, showers and picnic tables
  • Popular activities from fishing, walking trails, canoeing, Kayaking and volleyball court.

Public Beach Accesses

Fort Myers Beach maintains 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island. They are marked and easily accessed from Estero Blvd. Paid parking is enforced.
